[Hotel Review] Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur
9:53:00 PMHi! It's been quite a long time since I posted anything here. I would like to share another hotel I had the chance to stay while I was having a family trip earlier this year. Since we needed to take an early flight from Kuala Lumpur to Da Nang, I chose to have a stopover in KL to give us a slower paced trip which we enjoyed very much. So to find a place to stay for only one night, I tried to find a hotel with easy access to downtown KL and back to the airport. So the choices were the properties residing around the KL Sentral Train Station as there are early express trains back to the airport. Prioritising to find an SPG hotel, I found Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur to be the perfect choice for us for the stopover.
Why? First, it is only a mere 10 minutes indoor walk, right from when we stepped off the train to the hotel's lobby. Second, the hotel is recently refurbished and sports a contemporary look for its interior which I was pretty much would love to find out. Third, staying in Le Meridien KL as an SPG member would grant me some loyalty points for me to use in the future. And last but not least, we could easily go to the Bukit Bintang area by the recently finished MRT line in KL. What's not to love about Le Meridien?
Disclaimer alert, this review will be a very short one with limited pictures as I didn't have too much time to roam around the hotel and take pictures, so there will be only photographs of the room which we stayed that day.
Getting off from the KLIA Ekspres Train, I could see directions to our hotel directly and I was pleasantly surprised by how connected the hotel is to the station. When we were reaching the lobby from the train station access, we could see how Le Meridien KL has its own twin sibling, the Hilton KL, which shares the same foyer before the entrance. Le Meridien to the right, and Hilton to the left.
Check-in process was very prompt and we were escorted to our Premier Room on a higher floor per my request. Our room had quite a unique layout as it is a corner room: no in-room corridors, but instead a spacious room and a door on our right that leads to the bathroom. The perk of a corner room surely is the extra views to the city both in the bedroom area as well as the bathroom. With abundant natural light that seeped through the windows, our room was so bright during the daytime which I liked so much!
I was satisfied with the room design. The pictures on the hotel's website did not disappoint at all! There is no "dead" corner or surface that needs more decor, the room was simply beautiful. The wallpaper above the headboard was a nice touch to convey a contemporary-ish feel to this newly refurbished room and somehow it matches pretty well with the wrinkled bed throws. I also enjoyed working on the desk with the uber comfy office chair by the way. Did I have a good sleep? Sure! the bed was so plush that I had a hard time waking up the next morning.
What about the bathroom? I gotta tell you, it was indeed a memorable spot in the room. With a big window, I could enjoy the city view while doing my business here. But the design of the bathroom was not the star of the show actually, it was the bathroom amenities! Staying in Le Meridien KL will allow us to indulge in these Malin+Goetz toiletries. This was the first time that I sincerely enjoyed toiletries of a hotel. I especially loved the Sage Body Wash product from Malin+Goetz. The aroma is heavenly and stays on my skin for the whole day! How I wish they sell these products in Indonesia! The Peppermint Shampoo was also very refreshing, I was in awe of how they could find perfect ingredients for a perfect bathing experience. The bathroom amenities itself would be enough reason for me to revisit this beautiful hotel.
As we needed to catch one of the earliest trains to the airport, we had our breakfast at the earliest time possible. We were the restaurant's first diners that day and the food was good but not that memorable to be honest, just a usual decent hotel breakfast that I did not feel the urge to take any pictures.
For only one night, Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur gave an amazing impression to me, thanks to its terrific Malin+Goetz toiletries and beautiful room. I highly recommend this hotel for a short stopover or for city travelers exploring KL as the hotel has an unbeatable ease of access to literally anywhere in KL, while also provides exceptional amenities in the bathroom to rewind and relax after any day trip.
